This floor plan shows some rough dimensions and the general layout.

7.1 surround speaker placement shown as small rectangles.

I would like to use some QPD 2008 Motorized drop down speakers.

Mounted flush in the ceiling, this motorized 8 Square in-ceiling speaker automatically drops down from the ceiling when power is applied to the connected amplifier or receiver with 12V output, and retracts when the power is turned off- The speaker features multi-angle dispersion, allowing you to adjust the drop-down angle to 25, 30, 40 or 50, so you can deliver audio to the sweet spot of your listening and viewing area- The speaker connects to any amplifier or receiver via speaker wire and cat- 5 cable, each sold separately Features- Adjustable to four angles 25, 30, 40 and 50- Solves the problem of high directivity generated by the tweeters- Options of install include manual control, central control, and digital wireless remote control- Perfect for home theaters, multi-zone audio reproduction or background music- Also great for professional use in assembly halls, schools or public broadcast systems Specification- Speaker Type 2 Way- High Frequency Tweeter 1in– Low Frequency Woofer 8 in– Power 100W- Full Power 300W- Frequency Response 45 Hz 20 kHz- SPL Maximum 110dB- Dispersion Vertical 60, Horizontal 120 -6dB- Dimensions 11-4 L x 11-9 W x 8-7 H in

I believe that the rear surrounds will fit in the bay against the rear wall but I have not been up there to measure it yet.

Front speakers may not fit in the bay against the wall, it will be tight. The shear wall goes all the way to the roof rafters. I believe the bay to be 16inches but after drywall and crown molding there may not be enough space for the drop down speaker chassis.

Maybe able to mount the IB subs on a common plenum 4 in a row against the shear wall and vented

into the space?
