Brodeur Machine
I received a call from Steve at Brodeur Machine almost 2 years ago concerning my
Sherline CNC Retrofits. His company had a particular de-burring operation they needed to
perform on an aerospace part they were manufacturing. Being that the part was so small,
they felt that a small CNC machine might fill the bill for the operation as they did not
want to tie up a full sized machining center for the operation.
I built them a turnkey system less the PC and shipped it to them. After a few weeks of
operation, he contacted me again concerning high-speed spindle options and they purchased
a 30,000-RPM spindle and spindle mount to increase productivity.
I also helped them with the part programming to increase the chamfer tool life. By using
tool length and cutter diameter compensation, I was able to chamfer 6 parts using a
different portion on the chamfering tool before the program repeated.
